Background:

Maverick is quite naive, unable to see any of the bad in the world. He's actually fairly smart. After sometime spent in New Caledonia, he was declared an honorary citizen. Maverick (in his own head) figured they made him an honorary prince (Maverick's French isn't the best) and may take that a bit too far. Also afraid of heights, and will only accidentally pull off some extreme high flying moves in the heat of the moment. He cannot see any of the bad or evil in people, and is very trusting because of this. Push him too much though and he'll snap.
