Background:

Chris is a humbled Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu expert. Chris shows respect for his fans, bosses, interviewers, and most of all, competitors. He doesn't use cheap moves or break the rules. Chris was born in Minneapolis. He was born into an upper-middle class family. He attended Penn State University where he lettered all four years in wrestling. He became captain his junior year. In his four years, he won conference and state championships all four years, with winning the NCAA Championships at 197 pounds his final two years. Chris then traveled to Sao Paulo when he met Rickson Gracie. Chris has been a student of Gracie's for the past seven years and has achieved black belt ranking last year. Chris grew up watching wrestling, idolizing the usual big stars in the WWE. Chris also feel in love with MMA, watching Royce Gracie and Ken Shamrock. Chris always admired the way the little guys could take the giants to the ground and make them submit. Chris Ponger was brought into the VWF by the management to make the middleweight division more entertaining than it already is.
